Square Pegs and the Fall of the "Roman Empire".

Feels like: cynicalgrrr
I overheard the guy that empties the recycling bins swearing a "blue-bin" streak so I tweaked an ear toward him to find out what his gripe was.
He was shocked and appalled that University students couldn't figure out that plastic bottles don't go into the paper recycling bin. It seemed "Godf*ckin tabernacle obvious" to him that certain receptacles were designed for specific uses and why the "Holy f*cking Sacrament" hadn't these idiot students figured it out.

For the record; our Recycling Guy is a Person of Limited Cognitive Abilities (to put it PC)so you know that it's pretty bad when he's berating people for doing stupid-ass stuff like that.

This got me to wondering; Are we so damned lazy that we (and I use the royal We, here) can't be bothered to walk the two extra feet to the appropriate bin or is it that we're so self-important that going out of our way even a wee bit (both mentally and physically) is too just far beneath us to be considered?
Is it just me, or are the foundations of society starting to crumble?

** Yes, this is a reasonable translation of how we Quebeckers blaspheme.

I just tend to go with the fact that folks are idiots that don't read.

My friend and I were discussing this yesterday. I think that younger people are far more disrespectful and lazy than they used to be. Not to mention they have a serious lack of morals.
There is no "Well, I shouldnt do this." Its just "Hm. Can I do this and get away with it? Yep!" So they do it.

Its really annoying. And yes, I realize that Im not much older than the people I refer to, but...oh well. I dont act the way they do. =P
