With an axe.

I came home to find that The City had cut down the seventy-odd year old Linden Tree that was just down the path and by the road.
I found it heartbreaking, and I found it surprising that I found it heartbreaking. Maybe I'm just an old druid at heart.

excerpt from an entry i made a few days ago:
'a few days ago, a tree was cut down next to the church in back of my house...completely. a few inches of trunk left, and of course, deep deep roots. i took roo out for a walk, and i stood on the trunk, to feel like a tree.'

i was sad too. it's sad. SO sad. every day for the past while, i've been waking up to the sound of trees either being cut down or being trimmed and etc.

Yes, I was thinking on your entry when I wrote mine. I smile every time I think of you standing upon the trunk. :)
It seems to be a bad year to be a tree around here. There are so many mature trees that it's only natural that they start dying off in droves...

(planning to watch the movie this weekend, yay.)

I found it heartbreaking, and I found it surprising that I found it heartbreaking.

I'm not surprised at all.

Suggesting that I am an old sap you are, hmmm? ;-)

But yeah, I like trees. Hate to see them go.

Yes, maybe just a tiny bit, LOL :)

Totally bums me out to see a tree go, too.

Yeah, there's a large emptiness that surrounds a felled tree.

Once the City removes the stump there will be opportunity to plant anew.
