You remember Stanley and Irena? They were my neighbours. Stanley died a few years ago, then Irena passed away six months ago. Their twenty-two year old cat, Delilah was left with the house until arrangements could be made. Our courtyard adopted her, feeding her when she roamed up to our doors. She'd sleep over with either of the two houses that she'd chosen as her new digs. She never strayed far from the yard, the nummies, and the friendly petting, and she could usually be found dozing on the sunniest porch.

Saturday, a german shepard belonging to the new "Doggie Restaurant" strolled into our courtyard and shook the sleeping cat to death. The dog had no leash.

Now we have no Delilah, nor living reminder of our muched loved neighbours.

Thank you.
Yes, absolutely horrible.
Vivien's porch, the porch where this happened is being treated as a crime scene by the neighbourhood cats too. They're shunning it. They know.
She shoots, SHE SCORES!!

Oh no. I'd say it's time to have a talk with the dogs owners. That is just awful.

The police and the pound ought to be involved, that's my stance. However, the people who witnessed the attack aren't following through with that. I'll be passing the word at the neighbourhood pet stores and Vet clinics. It's all I can do.

Sadder still that the people that could do something about it aren't.

It's a bit of a shocker, isn't it? I'm still between sad and anger with this.

In the news:

In a friend from work's life:
Her 12 year old daughter was sitting in the yard with her guinea pig on a blanket, and the next door neighbor had a guest with a German shepherd over. The dog was unleashed, and on the guests way out the door, it ran over and picked the g-pig up in it's mouth and crushed the g-pig in it's jaws. My friend's older daughter (not sure of age) had to grab it's jaws and get the g-pig out, but of course it was too late :(
