Episode 2: Lbs vs. M's

Posted on 2007.06.16 at 13:38
In two parts because I'm verbose like that:

Let's discuss why a small package of (letter sized) paper is called 20lbs or 10M when if fact it doesn't weigh that at all.

Springback. Hmmm.. Sounds like a bindery issue, not so much a printing issue.
Had a quick peek around and found this Springback tutorial which is very helpful but looks as though I'd need a complete camera crew and entourage to demonstrate the technique on film. :-(

that was so fun!!!

Of course the Canadians have to throw math in there, don't they?

I agree that Power Point is only for marketing dweebs. I was forced to use it for a presentation once. Fortunately, it was only to a bunch of people that also hated PP, so it was all text and no sparkly pony crap.

I'm trying very hard to think of a question for the next episode. :)

Hi... I doubt you remember me, but somehow I think we used to share links or something. I remember that you take awesome photographs and write poignant prose. If you are who I think you are.

My name's Chrissy and the last time we would have had contact, I was a dumb teenager.

Now I'm a dumb "early twenties."

Are you Stan?

Hi Chrissy,

Yes, that's me, and yep, I remember you - except for the being dumb part, that is. I don't think that part is or was true.

Can I add you?
It'd be fun to keep in touch.

Update: I'm now 23, married, and currently 3 months pregnant. :_)
