Grandma died yesterday.
She was a million years old and looked frailer than that.
She was the crankiest old woman you'd ever want to meet but if you ever got past her porcupine skin you'd find that she was the most fiercely loyal and protective person you could imagine.
And loving.
I saw her not long ago, at the 'home'. She was slumped in her wheel-chair and had the look of complete boredom as the amateur choir sang christmas songs for the whole ward. I'm pretty sure I would have had the same look as a kid when I had to go to church. Slumped, bored, lost in personal fantasy.
Anyway, that's not how I want to remember her. I have so many happy memories of her. I'll cherish those.
She was my favourite grandma. I'll miss her.
